Two of our customers, Blount and Nordson, have recently been named amongst Information Week’s “Most Innovative Business Technology Organizations”.

Having worked with both Shelly Peet of Nordson and Barry Brunetto of Blount over the past year or so, I am not surprised at all by their organizations being named to the top 500 in the US.

Shelly Peet broke the ice for b2b2dot0 by signing up as our very first client.  Since then, Shelly has been rewarded for her vision and boldness by this Information Week award as well as being named a Progressive Manufacturer of 2009.  There is no doubt that we would not be where we are today if it wasn’t for the courage that Shelly exhibited back in early 2008.

The stars were aligning in March of 2008.  Shelly was orchestrating an SAP upgrade that would soon obsolete her eNordson B2B website. We were the team that originally implemented it seven years earlier and were now proposing its replacement.  But at the time of our presentation to her, she was going to have to place a bet on a new company.  One that was inventing a new business model (SAP Internet Sales delivered as a Software-as-a-Service) and a product that she was going to have to help finish.  It is to Shelly’s credit that she saw that as an opportunity to influence a solution that would ultimately add great value to her organization.  A year an a half later, close to 2000 visitors from 60 countries around the world have enjoyed 24×7 uninterrupted access to manage their own orders against her SAP system in real time.

Barry Brunetto has become our “lighthouse” client.  He is pushing his organization, and ours, to extract the absolute maximum value out of providing an SAP integrated B2B portal to his customers.  In a very short period of time, Blount’s B2B portal has gone from simply providing Order Tracking capabilities to their EDI ordering US Distributors, to providing multiple multi-lingual microsites delivering full Order Management functionality to their major European markets.

We’re very fortunate to have clients like Nordson and Blount.  We know that they are great companies and it’s wonderful to see that Information Week has recognized that as well!
